Employees of the University of Leeds in 1984 may remember a letter from the Microsystems Unit of its Department of Electronic Engineering. The letter stated that there was then only one choice for a desktop microcomputer: the IBM PC.

Lund University in September 1998 seems to recommend Windows for adminstrative work. Readers of Swedish may be interested in the advisory document. Would that it were fully open to critical examination.
